About Maggie

Maggie is a birth and postpartum doula dedicated to helping parents learn the evidence in a way that feels palatable and supportive. Her goal is to support families through all of the stages of pregnancy through postpartum, so they have the continuity of care from a doula that they know and trust.

Hi, I’m Maggie! I’m a Birth and Postpartum Doula and Newborn Care Specialist.

I’m originally from the Augusta, Georgia area. My wife and I spent the last five years living in Utah and Texas, but Georgia has always felt like home and we’re so happy to be back.

My journey into doula work began in 2019 while I was living in The Netherlands. I trained as a birth doula there and quickly fell in love with the opportunity to support families during such a transformative time in their lives. In 2021 and 2022, I worked as a birth assistant with a busy home birth midwifery practice, where I gained invaluable hands-on experience supporting families through labor, birth, and the immediate postpartum period.

Over the past four years my work has transitioned to doula support, focused primarily on supporting families through pregnancy and birth, and then continuing that support for those precious, overwhelming, and sometimes challenging first few weeks.

My approach to doula work is warm, calm, nonjudgmental, and grounded in evidence-based care. I believe there is no single “right” way to give birth or parent a baby, and my role is never to tell a family what they should or shouldn’t do. I’m there to listen, provide information and resources, offer physical and emotional support, and help families feel confident in the choices that are right for them. Whether that means holding a hand through a challenging moment in labor, helping a partner know how to provide support, hours of hip squeezes, answering questions in the middle of the night, cooking a warm meal,or simply reminding a new parent that they’re doing a great job, I feel incredibly honored to be invited into these moments.

I believe deeply in the importance of feeling seen, heard, respected, and cared for during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Supporting families through these seasons is so much more than a job to me, it’s work that I genuinely love and feel incredibly grateful to do.

When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me spending time with my wife and son, exploring a new coffee shop, getting outside, or reading a good book.
