Doula Communication
From answering late-pregnancy questions to being by your side in labor and checking in during postpartum, we are honored to walk with you every step of the way. Clear communication is key to continuous care—use this guide to know exactly when and how to reach out to your doula!

When Labor Starts — Call, Don’t Text!
As soon as you think labor is underway, give your doula a phone call rather than sending a text. Calling ensures an instant response and real-time guidance when timing matters most!
Additionally, please call your doula anytime any of the below events occur:
If you think you are in labor—even if you're unsure!
When you decide to go to the hospital or settle in for a home birth.
If your water breaks.
When your contractions follow a regular pattern (e.g., 5-1-1).
If you decide or need to be induced.
If having an induction, it is very important to call and text with updates throughout your induction—especially when a new intervention is introduced.
-
Anytime!
We are here for you throughout your entire journey. Please consider sending us a message when any of the following events occur:
To share any important test results.
Before or after prenatal appointments.
If you go to the hospital for reasons outside of labor.
If you any questions about anything regarding your pregnancy, birth, baby, and/or postpartum.
If you have recurring thoughts or fears.

How Support Unfolds: Your doula support begins virtually, offering phone and text guidance through early labor. As your labor progresses, your doula will join you in person whenever you're ready for that hands-on layer of care. Early and frequent updates are key so we can time our arrival perfectly!
-
Add your doula to your contacts: Make sure both you and your partner have your doula’s number saved and favorited.
For emergent issues or if you’re in labor: call (don’t text!) your doula.
For non-emergent items: please allow 24-hours for your doula to return a message or call.

Yes! You have ongoing Postpartum Access including unlimited call and text support with your doula for up to 12 weeks post-birth.
